सिद्धान्त (Principle): सोडियम कार्बोनेट (Na2CO3) एक प्राथमिक मानक है, जिसका अणुभार 106 ग्राम/मोल होता है। मानक विलयन बनाने के लिए पदार्थ की मात्रा ज्ञात करने का सूत्र निम्नलिखित है:

W = (m × MV) / 1000

जहाँ,
  • W = पदार्थ की मात्रा,
  • m = पदार्थ का अणुभार,
  • M = विलयन की मोलरता,
  • V = विलयन का ml में आयतन

W = (106 × 0.1 × 250) / 1000 = 2.65 ग्राम

अतः 250 ml विलयन में 2.65 ग्राम सोडियम कार्बोनेट घोलने पर 0.1M सोडियम कार्बोनेट के 250 ml प्राप्त होंगे।

  • 250ml मापक फ्लास्क कीप (Measuring flask stopper),

आवश्यक पदार्थ (Material Required):
  • आसुत जल (Distilled water),
  • सोडियम कार्बोनेट (Sodium carbonate)

विधि (Method):

1. एक स्वच्छ और शुष्क तौलन नली में ठीक 2.65 ग्राम Na2CO3 तौलकर मापक फ्लास्क में रखे कीप में डालें।

2. धोवन बोतल से तौलन नली में लगे क्रिस्टलों को कीप में स्थानांतरित करने के बाद कुछ आसुत जल डालकर कीप को हटाएं।

3. मापक फ्लास्क को हिलाने के पश्चात् मापक फ्लास्क के निशान तक जल भर लिया। कॉर्क लगाकर मापक फ्लास्क को हिलाया।

प्रेक्षण (Observation):

  • रिक्त तौलन नली का भार = 8.356 ग्राम
  • तौलन नली + Na2CO3 का भार = 11.006 ग्राम
  • Na2CO3 का भार = 2.65 ग्राम

परिणाम (Results): प्राप्त Na2CO3 का विलयन 0.1M सान्द्रता रखता है।

सावधानियाँ (Precautions):

  • ठीक 2.65 ग्राम Na2CO3 तौलना चाहिए।
  • तौलन नली से सारे क्रिस्टल मापक फ्लास्क में स्थानांतरित करने चाहिए।
